Bringing experience and leadership for a thriving and bright future in Paradise Valley

About Daran

Get to know Daran and why his personal experience will be valuable as a member of the Paradise Valley Town Council....

Daran explains why he’s running for a seat on the Paradise Valley Town Council.

Paradise Valley is the best small town in Arizona, and getting better.

While we are located in the center of the tenth largest metropolitan area in the United States, residents and visitors don’t feel that way when in our Town. Traffic slows down, mountain views open up, streetscapes are clean and manicured, you see mostly homes and few businesses, and pass by some of the most beautiful and popular resorts in Arizona, and the country.

I moved to Paradise Valley 20 years ago to make all of this a part of daily life for my family and me, and I want to ensure that all that makes Paradise Valley one of the most special places in Arizona, continues to flourish far into the future.

This is why I am running for a seat on the Paradise Valley Town Council.

As a member of the Council, I look forward to giving the best of myself to the position, including a strong moral and ethical background, a roll-up-the sleeves work style to get things done, a positive and optimistic attitude, a thoughtful and reasoned method to decision making, and a leadership approach that has resulted in many successes in both my personal and professional life.

As a small business owner for over 25 years, it has been my honor and privilege to provide an income and personal growth opportunities for many wonderful people.

While my undergraduate degree at ASU is in construction, my Masters and PhD degrees are in the field of Public Administration and Policy, providing a tremendous understanding of how government operates and can be successful.

I have been serving the Town for the past ten plus years, first as a member of the Town’s Planning Commission for six years (two years as Chairman), and also as a volunteer helping to run the monthly Paradise Valley Men’s Breakfast meetings for the past eight years.

If you have any questions or would like to share your thoughts with me about the Town, please do not hesitate to contact me at daran@wastchak.com.

I look forward to serving you!

On The Issues

We are lucky enough to be residents of a beautiful place that people from all over the world want to visit and live. Preserving all that is special about Paradise Valley is my number one goal as a member of the Paradise Valley Town Council.

Resorts that are beautiful and thriving

Our resorts are a precious source of pride, beauty, and income for Paradise Valley.  For this reason, the Town must be a good partner, without compromising what makes Paradise Valley unique and special.

Quality, well maintained streets, buildings and public spaces

Beautiful roads, medians and public spaces are the face of Paradise Valley, and a substantial investment that must be maintained.

High quality public services

High quality services provided by the Town must be delivered efficiently and cost effectively.

Strong support for police and fire protection

Public safety, both fire and police, are perhaps the most essential ingredient to maintaining the very highest quality of life for our residents.

Sound fiscal management

Underlying all that is important to quality government is strong financial management.  Paradise Valley is in a sound financial position, due in no small part to the work of the current Council and staff.  However, important issues remain to be addressed, including addressing the Annual Expenditure Limitation for the Town, proper funding for Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) that include streets and other infrastructure, and ensuring that sufficient revenues are maintained to pay for the Town’s top priorities.
